Prisons seem to be the most common form of industry in Nevada, which is otherwise mostly empty, at least from the perspective of driving through. Reno and Vegas have a lot of people now though, so it's not true.

I'd say California. Trip on the tales the bums tell you in Downtown Los Angeles alone. Not to mention the actors who pawn off their ability to "act" in Hollywood, nor the illusion of "The Happiest Place On Earth" that Disney wants you to swallow and buy into.
