Not sure what type of clay you're asking about.

If you're talking about *polymer* clays (Fimos, Premo, Sculpeys, Cernit, etc.), or possibly even air-dry clays, you can get a lot of info about using essential oils with them from my site, on this page:
http://glassattic.com/polymer/inclusions.htm
(... click on SMELL-Y INCLUSIONS...)

(I don't think you could use essential oils inside the body of *earth clays* though because the firing heat is too high, if that's what you were referring to).

Do you mean edible clays? yes, I do. Here's a blurb about the clay -

"Terramin® is the trade name for pure, Premium grade edible Calcium Montmorillonite clay. It can be a powerful detoxifier for the body and help remove toxins i.e. mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic, parasistes, bacteria, radiation...and more than I can list here. Terramin contains a combination of more than 60 macro, micro and essential trace mineral elements that are in a 100% pure, natural absorbable form, which will enhance cell function."
Here's the web link :

Apparently it's a powerful way to counter toxins, as clay can surround and kill bacteria, as it's so much smaller than even a living bacteria, the molecules surround them and choke them to death. Some parrots on some island were seen eating clay, and their diet consists of a toxic nut that can kill, but the parrots eat them without any side effects, and it was found that the clay is what keeps them from dying. Pretty wild. So, eat dirt, live healthy! LOL
