I used to own several. Sold all but one due to an extremely high lack of funds. The other one was confiscated by the police when I shot a water moccasin. Wouldn't you know that the lake had been recently classified as a wildlife preserve.
I will be inheriting two collections of guns. My father-in-law has several, some of which are collector items. The Mac 10 will be disabled and mounted as a display.
My Dad's collection is varied and extensive. Everything from hunting rifles and shot guns to competition handguns. He even has a little Derringer that he keeps in the top pocket of his overalls when he's on a road trip. The floor-to-ceiling gun safe comes with the collection. It's not quite a walk-in, but close.

No I do not. I used to when I was younger and went hunting. But...the foolishness I saw going on in the woods made me decide it wasn't worth the risk. Hey..we heard about Cheney in Canada too..but ya know what? At least he didn't kill the guy. The point is however, he was lucky. Far too many people take up a gun and don't really have the respect for possible consequences that they should have. Guns aren't toys. And it is the responsible owners who get blamed for the irresponsible ones. Nothing wrong with owning one (or whatever) IF you understand/accept the responsibilities.

Yes I own a couple of dozen of them and my wife and daughters all know how to use them as well. We believe in taking responsibility for our own safety as no one else has that responsibility.
If you don't want to own one that is a personal choice, but don't whine if the police are unable to protect you. After all they have no legal obligation to do so. You and only you are responsible.

Yes, we have a lot of guns locked up in our gun safe, except for the pistol we keep by the bed.
