how do i know if there is available slots to install it? pls help.

There are several makers of 10/100 Network Interface Cards. Usually you are best served with a pci style that plugs into a slot in your pc. Open your desk top (power off, power disconnected) and you should see a few open slots. I suspect you have a modem now; the network card mounts much like a modem does. If you now have a modem and are replacing your internet service with a broadband, you could put the Network card in where the modem had been .

Are you sure your computer doesn't already have a built-in Ethernet port? Most have come with one for several years.
It looks like a telephone socket (but is slightly squarer).

The technical term for the plug is RJ45, your router hopefully came with the correct cable ready to use, otherwise they are available from the Pound shop.

Never use USB to connect a router - it's a security hazard as well as less stable than an Ethernet connection.

Just buy a 10/100 ethernet card it will work just fine.
