The landfill near my home won't take it. I also have an old TV and several tires as well that needs disposed of, where can I dispose of them?

Old TVs generally have to be turned into the Hazardous Waste center. Sometimes they charge a fee, other times they don't.

If the landfill won't accept your old tires , you can return them to a tire store. Disposal fees vary from state to state ~ in our county, we have to pay $10 a tire.

As far as the AC, I'm quite surprised they wouldn't take it. Did you ask them where then you were supposed to bring it? You can call your city's department of Public Works ~ they should have a listing of places that accept AC units. You could also call a local AC & Heating place to see where they dispose of their units and how.

all refrigeration units must have removed of all freon before disposal (i.e. holes in the compressor, cut piping) once thats done you can take it to a recycling center and get money for the copper or aluminum.
