No all babies grow at different weights, my baby was 14lb 6oz at 5 months and at 9 months she was exactly 18lbs, she only gained an ounce in a month. You'll find the babys weight goes up quite quick until you start solids and your baby becomes active. My girl is constantly on the go, crawling, rolling, standing and walking, even fidgeting burns calories.
So i'd say when your baby reaches the 8 month mark you'll notice the weight slowly creeps on but this is normal. My friends baby is a month older and is 23lbs, much bigger than my baby but she is taller and has a different build, the head difference is amazing as my baby has tiny features but long limbs, then my other friends baby is 7 months and is the same weight as mine already, they are all so different.
As long as you voice any concerns to your health visitor at weigh ins they should reassure you, but i think the weight is normal.

My son was 20lbs at 4 months and he wasn't overweight. ALL BABIES ARE DIFFERENT. (He was 26lbs at 8 months and at 17 months he is 27lbs but a lot taller)

Also in breastfed babies rapid weight gain during the first 3-4 months and slow weight gain during the next 8-16 months is a normal pattern for some, particularly when compared to formula fed babies.

The new WHO growth chart for breastfed babies shows 8kg (18lbs 13oz is 8.07kg) as completely normal. Just above the 85th percentile.

No, my son is 9 months old and is just over 19 lbs but at 5 months he weighed the same as your son. Babies' weght gain slows down after 6 months.

Not necessarily. It depends on how big your baby was at birth, if your lo was bigger at birth then this could just be the average weight. If not then it all really depends on the baby anyway. Both my los were 7lb odds when they were born and ate constantly and where always heavier than other babys who where around them but they are and weren't over weight.

If you are still concerned in any way speak to your health visitor who will be able to put your mind at rest

Hope this helps

No! Babies grow at different rates. Before one year old, it is just baby growth, it is not even how they are going to be shaped as bigger kids. Be glad that your baby has some extra resources to fall back on if s/he gets sick.
My first baby was 20 lbs at six months - my littlest one is 21 mos and weighs 23 lbs. They are both healthy, just different!

my baby is 9mths and weighs 21lbs but she is very long your babys height also goes in with the weight when you go to the doc he determines the weight and height to see if your baby is overweight let them decide all babyus are different. when my son was a baby he was very chubby but he was extremley short.... as he got older and walking he just shed that wweight he is now 6 and is a t a perfect weight i wouldn't be too worried about it unless the doc says something but like i said my baby is 9mths and is 21lbs thats a good weight and your baby is also

No, I don't think so....

My daughter is 18 months, and weighs about 25 pounds.
She weighed 8 pounds at birth.
She is 50percentile.

Babycenter.com has pdf files of all the percentile charts if you'd like to view or download them.

Doubtful. My son was about that at 4 months old (exclusively breastfed, only when he wanted it) and weighed in at 20.5 lbs at his 6 month appointment.

As long as you are feeding your baby an appropriate amount of breastmilk or formula, your baby is fine.

what was the babies weight when it was born?
i love seeing babies who look healthy rather than bony little things
your health visitor would have told you if they thought your baby was too overweight
wait till the baby starts to move around more it will soon drop off hunny.
anyway you dont need to concentrate on weight now its more when they get to toddlers etc
