i ran out of regular tampons..is it ok to use sport tamps even if im not doing sports right now?
like when i went to sleep i put a sport tampon in...is that ok?

yes.
there isn't really any difference.
the sports tampons are just constructed for better absorbancy.
i'm sure the tampon won't know if you wear it to bed and not a field hockey game.

Yes, you are not only allowed to wear sport tampons while playing sports. The whole reason they are called that is just because they are better-made so that they don't leak easily, which is good during sports, as you move around a lot. Actually some people do wear sport tampons all the time because they simply have great potection. There is no difference between those and normal tampons except that. And, just like you can wear normal tampons during sports, you an use sport tampons during normal everyday activities.

That's fine...but I wouldn't wear a tampon to bed, you should alternate between pads (at night) and tampons (during the day)

Sure you can. There isn't much difference between the two. The sport ones just absorb more liquid if you are active.
