to address your doubts regards the amps,
>> 4.74 amps is perfectly FINE
even 474.0 amps is fine for that matter, just an exagerated assurance !

now to actual issue, which i presume is taken care of > cause of the fact that you mention 'spare adapter'
so i presume the spare is branded the same as your laptop make
this is critical cause the plug / socket have to be perfectly matched > any loose connections could be disasterous

EDIT:
to Don, above me
please note that i have certified usage of 474.00 amps
< under certain restrictions, not the amps >
request your kind clarification on matter
second answer was spot-on !

These devices are designed with the correct power limitations. So No Don't use the larger 4.74 amp
So if you choose to pay attention to those that speculate fine, But when you cook your computer because you are using a stronger power source you can thank those speculators and see if they send money to replace your fried computer.

It is fine as long as Voltage is the same and Amp is not much diffrent. I would have tried for this but always need to be careful with these type of things.

I believe as long as it is higher there will be no problem. But I would go buy the actual bonafied adapter because that's what you should use.

why do u want to mess around with this ? even if it is okay, why take chances ? there is a lot of sensitive hardware in it, and if things go wrong you are going to be double shafted - no warranty coverage and no laptop !
