Another questions....I am 23 weeks pregnant with my second child. And with my first i was going for my last sonogram and the assistant said my water level was extremely low but my water never broke and I had to deliver. My husband is worried that i might have a leaking problem?!?! is that even existent? I have called my OB but she is on vacation and no one seems to want to answer my question...can anyone help me?

My husband just mentioned that with my first child when we were intimate at 7 months and we had saw this clear liquid and went to the ER and they gave me shots to stop labor. Now could it be possible that he ruptured the sacK? and does that affect the 2nd pregnancy?

Yes you can have leak. When your water breaks it doesn't always come in a gush or large amount. A lot of woman just have a slow leak. If you suspect you are leaking (a lot of wetness in your underware that should be orderless) I would talk to a Dr. this is very dangerous.

I had a similar ordeal. When i was 34 weeks pregnant I felt something drip. And when you are that far along, you just assume that the baby is on your bladder and you peed. I had a high leak. My water broke but up top and was only dripping out a little at a time. I had to be put on antibiotics and hospitalized. The water had been like that for a day or so and they decided to break my water the rest of the way and induce me. Since you are only 23 weeks pregnant, I dont think any doctor would recommend doing that. And since your OB is on vacation, if there are not any other OB's or midwives at your practice, I recommend going to the ER...just to be safe. I wish you the best of luck and I hope every thing is just fine!

Leaking just means that your water broke and only comes out when you're active. It wont go on for days, and it wont stop and then start a few hours later. Its impossible. I went through the same issue when I was pregnant.
You will have a TON of discharge, enough to soak your undies and your pants, its totally normal and common. if you're soaking a period pad in and hour then you're leaking fluid and should see someone at the ER.
You can also leak urine along with everything else, which is also common, especially if this isnt your first pregnancy.
Wear panty liners.

Well, the liquid is always coming out in one way or another...the problem lies in not being able to REPLENISH that liquid fast enough.
Later in pregnancy, I felt leaking all the time. Are you drinking enough water to replenish the lost fluid?
Based on your past history, I would at least call the ob's office and ask who is handling problems while your ob is on vacation.
Usually when a doc is part of a group, the other docs take over. (In my case, I saw EVERY ONE of the docs in the group before my baby was born).
If nobody has any answers, then insist on seeing another doc in the group. They shouldn't take it lightly if you are really worried.

I had the opposite problem with my last 2.... polyhydramnios (too much water) what you have is called oglihydramnios. You need to stay in bed as much as possible and drink lots and lots of water. Don't drink or eat anything that could cause you to release excess water such as juices. Also, sweating reduces your body's water hence the reason to stay in bed. Here is a link to read up about oglihydramnios. Much luck and prayers to you...

Yes that is very possible. It's also very bad. If you cana't see your OB then you need to see another one. There is usually always another doctor in the office. You really want to get it checked out ASAP

It is mroe common to just leak amniotic fluid than for it to rupture completely. There are other things that can cause low fluid.
