There are so many kind of magic.

Distraction, the magician talks and jokes about stuff with the audience while his hands does something else, like switch a deck of cards for example.

Misdirection, the magician makes the audience focus their attention on where he wants them to.

Palming, you hide a coin or a card below your palm, so all your 5 fingers are open and if done correctly, it looks as if your hand's empty

Street magic usually use sleight of hand, which is about your hand movement, where it looks as if you're doing something but actually something else is going on.

For example you pretend to grab a coin, but you don't actually grab it, maybe you coin slide down the the palm of the hand holding it. Pretend the coin is already in the other hand, do something to your hand like you're performing magic on it (misdirection) while the other hand puts the coin away. Then show the coin disappear from both hands. It sounds simple but to do it is hard.
