a high fever in babies is 104-105. generally not associated with teething, however, lower fevers that dont break through a dose of tylenol are common.
A fever over 101 in a NEWBORN is high.

Not a high fever. It's low grade, under 100. Also, they will be cranky and sometimes have diarrhea. A good way to tell is if nawing on a washcloth or something similiar soothes them. Also, there are these all naturaly tablets that dissolve under the tongue, at Walgreens, that really help.
If the fever is higher that 100 and doesn't break, call your doctor or take your baby in.

It is quite common for them to run fevers, however a fever over 101 is cause for concern. Call your pediatrician if your child runs a fever higher than this. They can also have many other symptoms from teething as well, may even seem like a cold. Runny nose, sneezes ect. Keep some motrin on hand as it seems to do a better job than tylenol for teething. Good luck to you and your lil chomper!

They usually run a low-grade fever when teething. If your baby has a high fever do what you can to get it down (warm bath, baby Tylenol or Motrin). If it doesn't go down, call your doctor or go to an emergency clinic or the emergency room of your local hospital.
Give your baby a kiss from me!! Best of luck!

NO, NOT a high grade fever- it shouldn't be over 100 if it is teething. If it goes over 100, call your doctor- that is not from teething. Low grade fevers are issues with teething.

My doctor told me to expect a fever up to 101 degrees Fahrenheit. He said if it is higher than that to start looking for other symptoms. I think all babies are different. Some babies just naturally run high fevers. I would check with your doctor.

A slight fever maybe. A high fever usually means there is an infection some where. Call the Dr just in case.

Babies can possibly run LOW GRADE temps while teething, never a high fever. If your baby has a high temp, call the pediatrician.

well all babies are diffrent when it comes to getting their teeth in. but it is common to run a fever when cutting teeth, just keep tylenol around the house, and some cold teething rings and you,ll get through it fine!

The common misconception is that they do. But even if you are going to go by that, it shoudl be no more than low grade. Teething should NOT cause a fever. Perhaps a minor ear irritation along with teething, but will be no more than low grade.
