when i first got mine (not sure if it's the same model) the only possible way i done it was first ringing my network provider for information (might not be relevant) then ringing netgear. it might take a while, as i was on the phone for an hour to a woman that couldn't really understand anything i said! anyway.. she got it working, it's worth a try.

They may be easy to install, but as you are finding out, USB Wireless Adapters are poor at best, they are generally unreliable, they many times require drivers to operate correctly. It is always best to use Internal Wireless Cards they are more compatible, they are more trouble free and all n all they work.
