Sometimes it can tend to smell like that if she was wearing the same diaper for too long, like a kid who wets the bed during the night. But it could be an infection so I would call up her pediatrician's office and speak with one of the nurses to see what they would suggest, maybe a hospital visit or setting an appointment for her to see the doctor. In the meantime, keep track of what she eats and if she complains about it hurting when she goes to the bathroom. Also, keep track of any changes you see that are consistent, such as the odor and color of her urine. These will be a few of the questions they will ask you when you see a doctor.

SHe slept 12 hours, that concentrates her urine. Plus, its been hot out, and she's active. She'll have days where her urine is strong and you'll know she needs more water, and less juice.
Just how you notice that you need more water when your urine is dark and more concentrated.
Alright people, calm the hell down and have some common sense. Holy crap. If EVERY diaper she has is smelling like amonia then yes, its possible she has a UTI. BUT if she had a couple diapers this morning that reek she needs more water to flush out her kidneys. One smelly diaper is not cause to have 50 bucks raked out of your wallet for a trip to the ER. Put some fluids in her, keep her cool and still (its hot out all over the states this week) and let her body absorb and use enough water to cleanse her.

My son had the same problem, and we went to the doctor, he told me that a child should only get 4-6 oz of juice a day and mix it with water like 2oz juice 2oz water twice a day. Juice isn't as good for kids as people think. It has really helped us with the smell. If that doesn't help please check with your doctor it could be a infection.

Yes, take her to her doctor or the ER immediately, it sounds like an infection, any abnormal coloring, or smell, or odor, means an infection and needs to be checked out, it is common in kids, but you have to go to the doctor and get this checked out, he will prescribe an antibiotic and tell you to have your daughter drink plenty of fluids like Cranberry Juice and lots of other fluids to wash out the infection!

over 8 hours is a long time to have a diaper on. she probably just needed to be cleaned. kids need a lot of water. give her more water through the day.

You could try giving her more water and less juice, sometimes that's the problem. My Ped told me 4 oz of juice a day is enough.

will almost 12 hours of sleep she had the daiper for too long, you should wake her up and chage it more often, for me seems normal just take her to the doc just for a check up and to make sure that every thing is ok.

It's either an urinary tract infection or dehydration. either way she needs to be seen by her doctor. either one could become serious very quickly. You should check her for fever and get her seen today!
