My grandfather was captures and held in the Schadendorf concentration camp in Austria for a year during the II World War but now I can't find any information about it online?

Any help?

And I already tried googling it. Nothing related comes up.

Thank you.

:-)

He did survive the concentration camp mostly because the group of people there were young and used for labor, and they were tortured but wisely because the Nazis did not want to loose labor force.

The surviving prisoners escaped from the camp in 1945. when the Nazism started to rumble down and the Nazis themself tried to escape the libarating forces.

Thank you for the inquiry.

I'm sorry, but it seems that Schadendorf is a name of a person instead of a camp.

I got to ask though if you don't mind, did your grandfather survives the concentration camp?

Are you sure? The name means something like 'Pity Village'.
Grandfathers tell a lot of whoppers about WW2.

Have you tried looking on the Shoah Foundation site. They have survivor stories on there, maybe someone from your grandfathers camp will be on it.
