How can I build my own car at home?

I've only $2,000 and I've dreamed about this for years!

Life's too short to not do it!

Help me do it please.

Thanks!

for 2 g's I dont think you can even get a fixer upper for that I paid 2500 for a 73 Nova with no motor, tranny, seats. It only had the dash and a good body. a couple of g's later i'm still working on it .

For $2000, it's hard to build a car from scratch; however, buy yourself a fixer-upper or $300 wonder and start working out the kinks. First, repair the drive-train, you'll need to get it moving to get you motivated to do the rest. Once it's in motion and you can feel what it'll be like, start on the cosmetics-- paint, seats, interior, etc. Use salvage yard materials as replacement parts-- cheap, practical and oftentimes very good parts. Go to salvage yards in the country, small towns >100 miles from a city, for the cheapest parts. This alone will be quite a learning experience.

For $2000, you can actually go far, but the base car is the essential, so a cheapie will do for starters (no >400 to start).

Good luck!

Buy a 200.00 beater in good mechanical shape and start modifying it like crazy----take out all the dash components and heater/radio stuff and make your own dash/console....your only limits are your imagination and skills which can be learned as you go along. Read up on how to customize cars. Just make sure to keep safety in mind as well as looks and bear in mind that whatever money you sink into it may not come back if no one wants to buy it when you're done. The goal is to build something that other people will want as well unless you have money to throw away.
