They are people who try to rationalize religion, to their belief in UFO's. They feel very strongly about extraterrestrials. (usually thru a personal experience)
They want to establish a more plausible beginning of man, (to them) and the idea of of a divine creator.
Their belief is interesting, may seem whacky to you or me, but it is THEIR belief.
And think about it, if we visited a pre-societal or industrial civilization, and had all our technology...wouldn't we seem like gods to them?
And speaking of technology, wouldn't a cure for a disease to someone who does not even have the concept of germs, seem like an angelic gift?
These people use science as their religion.
I'm not agreeing or disagreeing. Not saying there is or isn't UFO's. I'm just showing that there is a dialog to be explored.
p.s. To those creationists: a few hundred billion stars, in OUR GALAXY ALONE, and we are so pretentious to believe we are the only intelligent life out there? God (as you believe) created unimaginable amounts of wonders here on one planet. Billions of stars. Some of those stars (and galaxies) have been around longer than ours.......hmmm I wonder.

The term extraterrestrial means something outside earth!
God was supposed to have created the earth so he can't have been of the earth, likewise Angels were not created on Earth so must be extraterrestrial too.
As Angels are not human then what else could you call them but Aliens?
Read your Bible properly and the answers are all there!
I've never heard that Heaven was seen as another planet but it's a fairly logical assumption to make.
Most religions have or had Gods and Goddess's that were not seen as Human or Earthly beings, what then were they if not an Alien being?
A UFO is just something seen in the sky that the person seeing cannot identify.
I don't believe that they are spacecraft from an alien race who come to look us over or 'abduct' the odd few specimens now and again.
I'm an Agnostic not a Ufologist! If God exists then to my way of thinking he can only be 'Alien' but that doesn't mean I see him as a 'grey, bug eyed creature' from a comic book!

While many people have different beliefs it has been my experience that this comparison (between aliens and angels/demons) is usually made by skeptics in the UFO/Alien Community. Their claim (which makes some sense) is that people tend to see things through the eyes/perception of their culture. For instance sleep paralysis which has been associated with alien abduction reports seems amazingly similar to reports of incubus and succubus attacks when society was more religious than science based. If you have no reference for a perception your mind will create an image that you are familiar with in order to let you see something.
The church of latter day saints (mormons) believe that paradise is another planet and your physical existence (albeit perfected) continues. So religions also make these claims.
God by definition would be extraterrestrial, as not being born on Earth.

A few months back there was a program on the History Channel that addressed that very subject. It was called "Aliens in the Bible". In the program, UFO experts drew comaprisons between eyewitness accounts of alien encounters and descriptions in the Bible about people being visited (either in person or in dreams) by angels or God. They pointed out that the details were almost identical. Coming to the conclusion that man was created by an alien whom we thought was a God seemed to be a reasonable assumption to them. (It was also central to the plot in the movie Stargate).

People are not satisfied with the world we live in. They want to have something to believe in, something unexplainable, hard to prove. For some people it is the essence of existence. But if to believe in all the mystical experience, there is something else besides human beings or animals. Those who see it name it the way they like. Anyway, people want to think that there is someone more powerful to come and help, to undo the wrongs. Thus come angels. People want to think they are not alone in the universe (for loneliness is very scary) thus come aliens.

Because angels, like aliens are believed in by many people, they live somewhere but we dont know where. So in a way there are a lot of similarites. Maybe the UFO boffins are trying to get more religious people to listen to them if they start talking about angels too!

UFO by definition is an unidentified object
as are angels
one is real
and the other is a spirtual incarnation
the spirits we have within us have a spirtual bond to the angelic realm and they are guides for us
ufos are just vistors with spiris from other world like ours
