I am on Economy 7 system for heating my water. I also have storage heaters. About 7 years ago I had a whole new heating cylinder installed as the heating elements in the old cylinder had stopped working. Then 2 years ago I had to have another heating element replaced. Now 2 years later the same heating elemnet has stopped working again. So it has only lasted 2 years! Surely a heating element in an economy 7 cylinder should last longer than 2 years? I know it is on every night so the water heats up on the cheaper tariff, but aren't they designed and built to last longer than 2 years? What is the average lifespan of a heating element in an economy 7 cylinder? Does anyone know?
