If you wash it off with Mothers car wash soap and a mitt or sponge no damage will have been done to your paint. You may decide to re-wax the the entire area as soon as the area dries.

If it hits the paint, yes-----the shell fragments as it hits and causes tiny little chips in the paint...it's a unique damage pattern that I've seen over the years, nothing else damages the paint like an egg hit. If you wash off the egg white and yolk right away, you'll minimize the damage to the paint from the sulphur in the egg but the egg shell damage will still be there. A body or detail shop may be able to buff out the chips/scratches or may not. Repaint or spot refinish would then be the only solution.

Only if it dries on the paint (won't harm the windshield much). Remove it immediately with very mild soap and warm water, use a terry cloth towel only for wiping down. Once it dries, the egg becomes like a barnacle, sticking to your paint and possibly penetrating the micro-pores of the outer shell of the paint (this is why waxing is so critical). Should be fine, but, if you'll feel better, rewax the area with Mothers, Meguire's or other excellent wax (no need for abrasive wax cleaners tho). For better protection, put on 2-3 wax coats, use a synthetic wax with polymers for a harder wax shell.

It's not what's inside the egg that hurts the finish. It's the scratches that the breaking egg shell leaves.

Time is the key. If it stays there for any time, it will start to affect the paint. If it goes unnoticed for a couple days, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to remove.
