It's a Lancia Dedra and I can't turn the key? It was fine yesterday but now the only lock that opens and closes is the boot lock. Central locking is inoperative too, but that shouldn't stop me turning the key should it?
Any ideas?

Steering lock is NOT on, central locking and key worked the day before. I cant even press down the button to lock the car from inside.

I'm no expert but I think invicta has got a point.

If the central locking doesn't work any lock then it sounds as if there is a blown fuse or relay. The key should still be able to be used but if the central locking only has been used for several years the locks are probably seized. A lot of wd40 and some gentle persuasion with the key should soon free them off

Do you mean key wont unlock door or wont work in ign? if its not working in ign the key needs replacing(does key look worn?)

have u checked its not steering locked first ???
