I used a hand held Avent pump for my son, but seeings as I'll have a 3 year old as well as a newborn I thought I'd look in to an electric pump. They are very expensive, so I wondered about hiring services. Has anyone had an experience with this to give me some direction?

I had a Medina electric one but I preferred my avent hand held pump, and I found that I could do it just as fast.

Good luck

Your maternity hospital should be able to tell you if and where you can hire an electric breast pump. I had to use a hand held one for 6 weeks, until my son got out of hospital, so I know how time consuming they are. An electric one would be much better.

an electric one doesnt really offer you any advantages over a hand held one. I used an electric one in the hospital and found it more uncomfortable then the hand held one I used at home. It still takes the same time, you have just as much to clean and sterilise plus you have to set it up each time unless you have a locked room away from your 3 year old.

I bought a Medela backpack breast pump. It is fantastic! It is the very best investment ever! A friend of mine got one on Ebay for alot cheaper than I paid, but I was able to pump so much that I got to stop when my daughter was 8 months old and she had breastmilk until she was 12 months. FANTASTIC! Totally recommend it... :)

in case you will basically be pumping on occasion then a instruction manual breast pump must be waiting to fulfill your desires. for the reason that instruction manual pumps are so small and lightweight-weight you are able to very truthfully %. one in a diaper bag and carry it everywhere you circulate. A instruction manual pump additionally supplies finished administration over the suction and velocity of the pump. electric powered breast pumps are designed to fulfill the desires of breastfeeding mothers that should pump on a regular basis. in case you plan to return to artwork after having your toddler then you definately would be contained available in the marketplace for an electric powered breast pump. the electrical powered pumps that are obtainable may be incredibly costly while in comparison with the instruction manual pump fees, yet once you plan to feed your toddler breast milk solely then the pump would be truthfully properly well worth the cost.

Why cant you just use your hand held? You can still chase a toddler with one... I think they work just as fast as the electric models. Theyre easier to clean, cheaper, and you're not stuck to the wall while using one.

My daughter-in-law said it was excellent. Used it with both her babies.
