My results:

You Are 72% Capitalist, 28% Socialist In general, you support a free economy and business interests. You tend to think people should fend for themselves, even when times get tough. However, do think the government should help those who are truly in need.

Feel free to share your results! :)

88% capitalist for me.

Moderate Unite! I do believe education should be a luxery and here is why: We spend way too much time in our schools trying to educate those that either can't keep up, or worse yet, don't even want to be there. My sister, for instance, pulled my nephew, who is an extremely bright kid, out of the Columbus, Ohio school system after hearing there were kids in his class actually throwing their own feces around the classroom. This is what our schools have degenerated into. Look at the educational systems of the countries where our tech jobs are getting outscourced to, only the brightest get advanced to the next grade, the dummies are sent home to work in the fields.
I'm not advocating child labor, but on the other hand we have to be more aware of the fact that some kids are going to grow up to become doctors, attorneys, or nuclear physicists, and others are going to wash dishes or dig ditches.

"Mordent" is right. That blogthings test is really skewed. I was 40% Socialist, which is ridiculous. Ronald Reagan himself would have scored similarly! I think the questions really are very polarizing. There were some I answered which I knew were going to warp the results, but there was no really good way to answer the question.

I wonder if that survey wasn't written by someone who wants people to think their views aren't a lot more Socialist than they really are. In other words, the author wants people to be more sympathetic to Socialism by making people think that their own (moderate) views are actually Socialist.

So I took Mordent's test, and it was much more reliable. According to this test, I am:

Social Moderate
(41% permissive)

and an...

Economic Conservative
(60% permissive)

You are best described as a:

Centrist (60e/41s)
"You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness. "

64% Capitalist . But I must add that some of those questions were too vague . I bet if they were more specific I'd probably come in much higher on the Capitalist range .
But it was a good starter and interesting to see some of these folks turned out to be socialists !!

EDIT*** - On Mordent's test I scored "Strong Republican 60/16".

nicely there is a few dispute as to precisely a socialist is, the different solutions seem to have confidence that socialism is a foul element and in opposition to democracy. whilst it is each and every so often real there are a number of capitalist dictatorships and socialist democracies, a marvelous style of eu countries at the instant exist or have existed in socialist democracies. i could say that Obama isn't a socialist - to be a socialist i could say a pacesetter could want to be extra worried in nationalising industries, plenty bigger taxation and lots extra to redistribute wealth. i think of he's a capitalist with a social judgment of right and incorrect and consequently needs to apply the state to do extra to help human beings.

While you are definitely sympathetic to a free economy, you also worry about the less fortunate.
Wealth and business is fine, as long as those who are in need get helped out too.
You tend to see both the government and corporations as potentially corrupt.

Thanks for bringing up the real debate in politics today, because that is exactly the defining argument, are you for a free market or government control, it is simple as that.

I was a 76% for freedom and 24% socialist and more than proud of it, freedom rocks, socialism sucks.

pachl@sbcglobal - you are right on, I have yet to find a "test" to determine your political position that does not have a left bias, they are all designed to place us further left on the scale and to convince us that socialism is a good thing.

Also, I found it funny that some answerers, those who always argue on the left did not take it, or share their results. Do you think maybe they did not like what the results were? Isn't that hilarious?
