If you were to represent ageing in a 3d object. What would it be.?

I think that it should have the consistency of jelly, in that it sags and looses it shape, but that is too easy, I suppose an old bag would be ideal, like a Gladstone bag, leather, with deep scuff marks and a broken and repaired clasp, and some stitching on one of the seams.

If it was to be female, then there could be a peeling name over the original name, to represent the change of name at marriage, or just a patch of brilliant leather, where divorce has removed the second label.

It would have to be brown in colour, the colour all old folks tend to move towards, and the guilding on the glasps should be worn away to reveal a silver colour underneath.

the handles should be really well worn as well, with black oily stains from long use.

Alternativly, you could put a handgrenade - with faded paint on it, and the pin removed, but it has not gone off, it is past its potency, but you feel that it is about to explode, - to fall into bits at any second.
