A long time ago before people carried cell phones. Did you know payphones just cost 10 cents in the 70's?

Yep! I used one all the time when I was a single mom trying to make ends meet so that I could buy a car of my own. Can't wait to see how many others have used one as well.

Here, we call private phones that allow people to call for P5 per minute a pay phone, you have to go to Manila or a very high class joint to use a real one and they don't accept coins, just prepaid cards which oddly enough are on sale in another machine nearby!

no but one time i went to the airport and stood around some payphones, i pressed the coin return on one of them and it returned 75 cents :-) lol!

Yes, bu not recently. Why should you use a pay phone when you have a cell phone? I have enough minutes. Cell phones are more convenient and cheaper to use.
