From many discussions and experiences, Americans can say anything negative about their country or president, but the second any person that is not American says somthing, they become patriots of the year and live in the best country on Earth. Im not having a go, I think it is good to be patriotic and stand up for what you believe in. I just want to know if Americans can admit it is common behavour for SOME Americans, maybe not you, but Some? I know you may be wondering why this is in the r&s section, well i think being patriotic is a part of ones spirit.

Yes, that's true of *MANY* U.S. citizens.
Although I wouldn't call them patriotic (at least not some of them). A lot of people here feel strongly about the U.S.; but, in my opinion, it isn't love. I view it as more like a narcissistic obsession- They are their country... Their country is them... And no one else is good enough.

It is a shame for indians when someone posts on here that they would never stand up for the US but they are admiting and PROUD of not working, being lazy, and taking everything they can from "Big White Father". There is such a problem with drunks, people using drugs, abusing their children, incest, domestic abuse and violence and people like this ARE the problem. They feel white peopel owe it to them to pay for their alcohol and drugs and housing and everything they want. Like spoiled babies when they dont get their way to get mad and shoot at white people.
I am indian and PROUD to be American and working, and teaching children they can succeed in life, the onlyt hing holding them back is other indians who disgrace us with their boasting of being lazy unemployed drunks.
If there foot hurts they blame it on white man, if there car wont start they blame white man, if they fall down drunk and hit their head they blame it on white man, but they love to get money from same white man
Indians are able tobe decent human beings in the world they were born into the same as white people were, with same chance to be educated, find work, but most prefer to do nothing, take what they can make racist stupid remarks about the people supporting their laziness. Say I will never stand up for this country. Without Amercians they would have no house no food no medicine and would all be dead.

I see your point, and I agree. Many of us do that. Think of it like this:
You get angry with your Mother. You tell your brother about it, and let the hot air out. You don't hate your Mother, you love her. You just get angry with her sometimes.
That's the way I see it. I love my country just the same as you love yours. We were given the right to freedom of speech. We can speak openly about our feelings towards our president, just like we can anyone else. It may not be right, but they are the rights we were given. I don't agree with our President's decisions or logic. As a matter of fact, the day he leaves office should be an official holiday! Regardless, this is my country, and I will defend it when I see fit. If I didn't god only knows what would happen to us as a whole.

If you're a non-American, and you're making a criticism about America, you're going to have to distinguish yourself from others.
Remember, my country gets blamed for absolutely everything in the world. There's a large group of people who just blame America for everything, without really thinking about it, and the problem is, most people don't seem to have a problem with that, even if they don't agree with it.
Distinguish yourself between the "blame America" crowd, and someone who has a legitimate criticism of America, and you'll be taken seriously.

I don't think they are being patriotic - Americans just cannot accept criticism of any kind.
Overall they think, or believe, that they are superior to everyone else.

No, because I realize that peoples' opinions will vary and that the truth is what it is, regardless of what they think. I'll defend America from actual physical attack, not from namecalling.
