A recent programme on UK TV told that the Hungy Horse chains and Weatherspoons use meat from a Zebu
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebu
Although they advertise it as British Beef, would you still eat it if you knew it came from this animal?

Also, do you think we should be told what animal the steak we're eating comes from?

I would like to be told what type of animal my meat is coming from before I tried it.

After reading the link about the Zebu, I would try it because it is basically another member of the cattle family and we already eat beef from other cattle.

Actually its not the law to tell customers where the meat is from!! It's the law not to lie where it is from!!! Zebu meat must taste similar to our cattle as a lot of customer have not tasted any difference did you watch that programme??? They didn't advertise it as british beef the burger was advertised as british beef not the steaks!!!! IF it was which it wasnt they would be slapped with a high fine and maybe shut down as its a case for Trade descriptions act 1968
