Yes, I have lost a good friend. She was a work partner in the grocery store. No one really knows what happened. She was coming home with her family from holiday when they had to stop in at the hospital because she was feeling very unwell. Before she was to see the doctor she had a bit of a wait. She said that she was going to just lie down in the chairs in waiting. When they went to rouse her, she had slipped away.
The only comfort we have is knowing that she had two of her daughters with her and her loving husband when she passed on.
When I got the call next day it was so hard to except. No one ever had a bad word to say about her, even her daughters' friends were shocked beyond belief. It has left a big hole in all our lives out here, but none more than in her daughters who are not yet grown and still so badly need a Mom.
No one knows why these precious people leave our lives when we still need them. Maybe God is just short on angels, honey. I feel for you and I weep. You have lost someone wonderful and dear. I am sure she, too was a fine woman and no one would say a bad thing about her. I am sending prayers for you both and a hug. (((HUG))) _()__()_

My heartfelt condolences -- I know the pain of losing loved ones.

I, too, lost my Parents, and although it is now over 3 decades ago that this happened, this Empty-Nesting Single Retiree STILL feels the loss ... the fact that my Mother could NOT be there to witness the birth of my children, to be the 'safe harbor' of hope as I was struggling through a short disaster of a marriage, to be a guiding light in the lives of my children, to encourage me to go on, or to be PROUD of the way myself and MY siblings stuck together as FAMILY and were there for each other as we went through bad divorces, deployments, TDYs, and changes in our lives.

Yes I have. I lost both parents and my brother. It was not recent but that does not make it better. It just means that I have missed them longer

Not recently, but the loss of my grandmother is still as painful as it was 15 years ago.
She was my very best friend.

Yes I have. it's been 12 years ago, but it still hurts at times. Those times tend to be when I sober up for a couple of days.
