The answer is greed. We all wish to feel in control, both of ourselves and of others. When we expect someone to help us or interact with us a certain way, it is because we wish to take control. This is a natural characteristics among all human beings. However, make sure you learn to modderate this feeling of expectation towards your friends and family members.

You should say why do I always expect from others.
The answer is maybe you are a very materialistic and selfish brat!
Try giving more to others than you expect them to give you. Also try helping people taht are not in a position to help you, like the old, crippled, the street children, and the sick.
That way you will achieve more spiritual satisfaction with your otherwise hollow life.

It is natural for anyone to give and expect from other people.After all, we are all living in a society and as a matter of course we give and take. Like expecting and receiving from others we should also be willing to offer and give whatever good other people deserve from us.
Perhaps those who believe that others always have something to give them do always expect from others.Not all.

It's all part of human nature. We expect many things from other people, but when we rely on other people we are never fulfilled, because they never live up to our expectations.

Who said that every expect something from others?Many are serviced minded . They don't want anything in return.
As you say 98%of population are greedy,selfish.We are humans .In us we have 2 behaviour .One is bad quality(rajahs,thamas) other is the good quality(satva guna).Our inner conscience (paramaathma) always motivates us to think,work and do good.But we ignore these motivations .So we don't work & get things, instead due to laziness we expect others do give.

Expecting is a natural tendency of humans. Expecting from everyone is senseless, but expecting from our loved ones is not a crime. We only expect from people only when we love them. So, we can't help it. its not in our control.

I think the only thing we can expect from others is that they don't do to another that which they wouldn't want done to them.

We always expect something from that person because we believe that he/she could possibly do it. We know that he/she can succeed or can give us satisfaction we expected from him/her.

We don't - I learned a long time ago that if you don't expect things from other people, you appreciate when they do something nice for you.

Personally, i think every is born with natural selfeshness. Some grow out of the charecteristic and others thrive on it, depending on how your raised.
