I have put on 40 kilos (90 pounds) since being preggers with our 18 month old daughter and have gone up 2 dress sizes. He always says that it doesn't bother him (he put on a bit of weight too) and that he loves me the way I am but most men seem to be kind of superficial and perve on other women (although Ive never seen him do this) so I assume that he is just saying its ok when really he is turned off by my excess fat. Is it possible that he really likes me how I am or do you think he would prefer if I went back to normal?

I think that relationship should be above that.
I think that he really could be honest.
And I think that you personaly would feel better if you lose some weight.

P.S.
And I think that TheDude is right

It's a mixture of both.
Your husband seems pretty content with the way that you are now. The only thing that's going on here that I notice a lot of is your newly found insecurities about your unfamiliar figure. And you are beginning to obsess over it to the point that you are making a mountain out of an anthill.
And the only reason why he would
be satisfied with you going back to your original size is because it would make you feel better about yourself and regain your self-esteem. This issue really has you all out of sorts and you're projecting your anxieties and lack of confidence onto him hoping that he'll somehow give you permission to be more miserable than you already are.
You know the answer to your own question. Sure you need to lose weight: but not because of your husband. Not to get back down two dress sizes. Not to regain your signature physique. But because 90 pounds can very easily become 290 lbs. Then 490
lbs. See where this is going?
The more you put on the harder it's going to be to lose this weight whenever it becomes a serious health issue. So, you need to lose this weight for you-so that you can be around to watch your 18 month old daughter grow up; graduate; get married and give you grand
children; and reach or near retirement
age.
You have a wonderful husband whom is being very straight-forward with you. Just do yourself
a favor and start being very straight-forward with yourself.
News flash! Most women look better with a fuller figure-every woman
doesn't look attractive being nothing but skin and bones.
Good luck with your life. Peace and God bless.

For one, your body has changed after giving birth. Neither of you can be so selfish. It is only natural for him to take a second glance at a beautiful lady. Same for you. You will take another look at another handsome man. But that's it. Nothing happens further. As long as you both are committed to this marriage, both of you will make it work. You can try losing weight. He also can try. That is the meaning of a real family.

I would say that he is in love with you. From a guys point of view, my old lady is not as small as she was when we hooked up. (14 years ago) BUT I love her just as much now as I did then. I would say the same for your old man.

Take him on his word. If he says it is OK with him it probably is.
