I have lots of slugs in my garden, but I was interested in the news the other day when it said there are 15, billion, the question I am asking has anybody really counted them, if so nobody came in to my back garden to check mine, I counted them to day and there were 22, so maybe it is 15 billion and 22 unless you know different

They probably count the number of slugs in a representative sample of gardens. The work out the average number of slugs then mulitply that by the amount of land where slugs like to live.

There were a few less this morning, plenty of enormous, squashed ones on the pavement, made a change from dodging puddles.

They must be easier to count when they're so huge, not so many to the square metre.
