'Tinkicker' has the answer, I am on O2, I travel about a lot if I need a number I just dial it, it gets through.

0044 if ringing a land line phone then you miss the 0 off the STD code for example 01253 is the code you would start 00441253

On O2 you just dial the mobile number, no codes or anything, just what's in your phones memory.
