The only injectable birth control out there right now is Depo-Provera which is a progesterone only medication. The injection is given every 3 months. It can cause weight gain as well and some I have talked to have said that even after going off the medication getting that weight to come off can be hard.

I would recommend discussing this possibility with your doctor to see what they say.

There is an injection you can get at your gp or family planning clinic ( in new zealand) It stops your period after a couple of times and acts as a contraceptive. It lasts for three months . The only problem I had was my lowered libedo and spot bleeding for the first couple of months.

Go to planned parenthood, and ask them about the Depo shot. You get it once every three months, and most of the time you can get it free at planned parenthood. It made me LOSE weight, not gain weight, and you don't have a period. I love it.
