Mean = average

In a set of five numbers (20, 22, 24, 26, 28), add

20 + 22 + 24 + 26 + 28 = 120.

Divide 120 by 5

120 / 5 = 24

The mean is 24

claire george, hello how are you? th mean is the average of the numbers for example you are given 5 numbers, 1,2,3,4,5
the mean is the total of the 5 numbers divided by the amount of numbers there are so in this case = 1+2+3+4+5/5

The mean is the average. Add all the numbers up and then divide by the amount of numbers in set.

e.g 3,4,5 = 12 then divide 12 by 3 (as there are 3 numbers)

ans - 4

it is the average number in the range of data.
if you have the three numbers 7, 5 and 3 you first add these numbers and then divide the total by the number of pieces data.
this would be:
7+5+3=15
15/3=5

therefore the mean is 5

the MEAN is the AVERAGE.
so if you have, for example, 5 amounts to add together, the answer then has to be divided by 5.

e.g. 1+2+3+4+5=15
then divide 15 by 5
= 3 which is the mean

see I'm not a 'mean' person, I'm just the 'average'

the average
add the numbers up and then divide it by the number of numbers you have
so 1, 2 , 3= 1+2+3= 6
there are three numbers in the sequence so 6 is divided by 3
so the mean is 6/3 =2

mean of the observation is the ratio of total sum of observation to the total number of observation.
suppose u have the data like this:-
55,41,587,956,558,859.
solution:-
sum of the observation=3326
No. of observation=6
=3326/6
=554.33
