why is he called a good manager??

arsene wenger:this man creats players.
he spotted henry a winger from juventus...and converted him into one of the biggest stars modern football has seen

rvp,fabregas and rosicky..were nothig before arsene polished them

frank rijkaard:he trained lionell messi since he was 13..and now has converted him into a household name...
dos santos and krickic are examplas of his talent too..

even benitez and mourinho have created a few handpicked players.

wat about ferguson???ronaldo,rooney tevez .all bought..now he want anelka...berbatov.

HE DOES NOT HAS TALENT TO CONVERT AN AVERAGE PLAYER INTO A STAR.

even when he picks a few unknown faces they are useless.

Well it is not exactly an arguement as yet as Benitez was not responding to anything directly. I don't think any is right or wrong. Benitez is correct, as Sir Alex seems to get away with more than other managers, but to be fair is that his fault? Winner's in any sport, be it golf, football or tennis take every single thing they can which can benefit them in the slightest way. So I would not call Ferguson a joke, if he can get away with it fair play. Regarding the fixtures, especially as he is right, having so many away games was a disadvantage, and although now United are in a strong position now with so many home fixtures, he is just merely speculating that if United had not performed as well as they have so far they would be out of the title race. if he can get away with it fair play. But I respect Benitez for coming out the way he did, it's something different and is so intriguing to watch. If Liverpool do go on to win the title Benitez's rant will be a nice thing to look back on. The real villians in this "arguement" are the FA and Premier Leauge. They need to come up with better ways to schedule fixtures and fairer ways to punish people. Great question

to clarify, c.ronaldo was not a big name before he went to man u. but then again, he was not very famous neither. it was only when man u played a friendly with sporting lisbon that ferguson noticed the young player named ronaldo, and he hasn found a successor for beckham yet, therefore he gambled and payed 17 million euros for ronaldo. this is not 'nurturing'. ferguson has not 'nurtured' since the class of nicky butt, ryan giggs, paul scholes, david beckham, gary and phillip neville

You are a typical wengersexual gooner.
Arsene Wenger buys young foreign players who are on the verge of breaking into their first teams.
Your southern-biased media does not make much news of this as they are all firmly lodged up Arsenal FC's backside.

*YOU ARE A COMPLETE IDIOT - Cristiano Ronaldo has only previously played for Sporting Lisbon and he won absolutely nothing there.

Firstly Faisal, who's youth team are the world champs?
UTD's (beating Barca's in the Qtr finals, by the way)
Secondly, who exactly from the Liverpool and Chelsea teams were bought through by Benitez or Mourinho????

As for Fergie;
I guess Scholes, Giggs and Beckham (for starters) are useless??????????????????

and as for his performance at a 'poorer' club, check out Aberdeen in the 80s.......

Nonsense...who had even heard of C. Ronaldo outside of Portugal before he joined United?? Or Schmeichel ?

..and Beckham? Scholes ? Butt ? the Nevilles? Giggs? All of them home-grown players he turned into European Champions....something that Wenger cannot claim yet.

Equally, Wenger had nothing to do with Henry in his early career....he was already a full French international who had even been part of the World Cup winning squad when he joined Arsenal.

All clubs are going that way. The youth academy system is a huge drain on a clubs resources.

@dave:not all youth clubs suck..like man u's.

barca youth has won the most tournaments in the past few years....

ans-i agree aatif....if alex ferguson goes to a poor club who cannot buy players..he will not win a single trophy...he can buy silverware..not win it on his merit.
