No. Following the abolition of their titles and the confiscation of their wealth, they should be give a council flat in south London. Of course they should also receive the basic State Pension for a married couple.

To do what? They're trained for one thing and one thing only - and that is to be titular heads of the country. Besides, if you have an ex-monarch hanging around it offers opportunities for dissenters to overthrow whoever is currently on the throne and put back the one that had stepped down.
Edward abdicated - and that was probably a good thing for the empire as he would have made a rotten king. Firstly, he was a Hitler supporter, and would have welcomed the little man into England. But even after his abdication he was regarded as a possible threat to the security of the Crown, which is why he was sent off to his island and not allowed to reside in Britain.

It would be unusual for the reigning monarch to retire, normally they would abdicate in favour of the next in line. I think this Queen will continue until she can't carry out her duties any more. Afetr all that's all she knows, she has never known any other kind of life. I doubt very much if she would take a bungalow in Bournmouth, more likely Balmoral or Windsor Castle as her ancestor's did.

Seeing as how theirs is actually a royalty of descent and family to the throne of England, I don't think there's a chance in Hell of her allowing anything to disrupt her reign what with the history her ancestors have endured and what she has accomplished. I say, she might be crotchety at times and seem unfair but you gotta remember, she did serve as a mechanic during WWII in service to her country so she has clearly not only been born into it but earned her place of royalty for and among the people. Diana might have been The People's Princess, but Queen E is truly The People's Queen and rightly so! I dare say anybody who even attempts to whisper of overthrowing the throne had better be prepared to be hung out to dry, literally and figuratively and frankly I wouldn't blame the lady!!!

The Queen is appointed and dismissed by God. She will remain Queen until She dies. The Queen understands this, most of the people understand this. This is the protocol of the system of democracy enjoyed in the United Kingdom. It is called a Constitutional Monarchy.

Are you asking if they should be forced to abdicate? If so No. She is the Queen, she can do what she wants. Besides she has no real power so what does it hurt if she wants to stay Queen. Personality, I wouldn't mind seeing someone a little younger take the throne but you can't force the Queen. That's just not right!
If your asking should the country pay for their retirement home and give them a pension? No, also. They have plenty of money.

Retire from what? They have never had a job. They have spent their lives sponging off those of us who have a job. She has spent her whole life in retirement.

Also they would be succeeded by Charles(who wants a politcally correct king), and Camilla (nuff said!).
