As soon as possible because you'll find that things get a lot more expensive when it's nearer the holidays... It's best to get it done now so you can avoid the long lines to the cashier and the stress of looking for the "perfect" gift. You have time to return the gift too, if ever you bought something someone already has.

I usually start in July/August, but I don't have a set plan. I just start picking up things here and there that I might be a good gift for a friend or relative.

as early as you want if you hate crowds. but if you like the festive season, you might want to shop around november. thats a good time as there will be festive dicounts too.

i think ...early and mid december .. will have more interesting things to buy and the price will be just great for the festive season.. its fun and feel the heat of festive..
