zulu! or Zulu Dawn?
Also what about a town like alice?
Also liked braveheart although historically flawed in a few places.
actaully i could put many here in this section- although the problem with most stories they are edited to make great movies not to make the story clear and precise to the masses. Never let details get in the way of a good story i think is the phrase.

There are many I've really loved, but putting the stress on "true story", I would say "Thirteen Days", about the Cuban Missle Crisis. Everyone did a great job on the movie, the story itself is compelling, and the filmmakers really worked to minimize taking dramatic license and let the facts and details create the drama.

This question is very hard, for me, to answer, because I only LIKE films, that have, - at LEAST, - an ELEMENT of "TRUTH", about them.
However, there are THREE, that spring to mind, straight away, - and THESE are as FOLLOWS:-
ZULU!, - which was, in actual FACT, the FIRST feature film, that had Sir MICHAEL CAINE, in a "STARRING" role
ZULU DAWN
and, a "BIO-PIC" of murderer, GARY GILMORE, entitled "THE EXECUTIONER'S SONG", - which was based on the BOOK of the same name, by NORMAN MAILER! This, - as FAR as I am AWARE, - was the FIRST film, of a man, who is, now, one of the BEST actors, around, - TOMMY LEE JONES!
