Honda Fit 109 hp with 1.5l engine, auto , drives up the Cahone Pass, (interstate 15) will do 80 easy speed limit+10 and have gone up to 95 ( no hwy patrol in view) before going over the crest. ( tractor trailers do 20-45 max.) one person driving. The constant velocity trans works smooth. If I floored the throttle, I believe I can get 120 up the hill. and do max 140 over the top. May end up with lots of Hwy Patrol cars on my tail !!

The Honda Fit, despite the fact that is has a small engine, is a smooth operator on hills, since the five-speed automatic (or manual) has close ratios and shifts smoothly. It should have no trouble climbing slopes that are within reason.

I just bought one and it is pretty zippy. Don't have a lot of hills but it will get up and go. My problem is that I don't get anywhere near the promised gas mileage and that's when I drive extremely carefully. You also need to know that the fit will only carry 850 lbs. It is not built for heavy loads of any type. I didn't realize that. I have a BIG family and altho' it seats five, I can't take them all and their big purses. I have to say you and you can go but the rest of you need to get a different ride. I would have bought bigger if I had known. And you are sitting on the gas tank. I like it and would like it more if it suited my needs more.

sure it can, it might have a small engine but it is light and has close gearing. One of my cars is a horribly underpowered car. A ford escape with a 4 cylinder manual. If a suv equiped with a 4 can do it a lighter fit with vtec can do it.

sure it will go up a very small hill. if you want to climb hills get something with power. i don't know about you but i wouldn't want the loaded big rigs passing me while going up hill.

Yes. it does not struggle for power because it does not lack any. Even with a fully occupied car it will drive uphill easily.

Nope, it wouldn't even be able to make it half way up before going backwards! No Power and it's a death trap! The only way to get it up is with the 2 people pushing it up. Good luck buying a death trap! I suggest a lot safer and bigger car!
