I thought this was the land of the free? Why is it okay to limit a person's God given free will? Who are we to tell someone else what they can or can't do to themselves?

What someone chooses to do (or have done) to themselves should not be regulated by the law. This may include but is not limited to (Censorship, drugs, fine company, euthanasia, ...) I mean seriously, if you don't like it then don't indulge. But why force your view on others? Is it not enough that you simply don't participate? That is my opinion. Do you agree or disagree? Please tell me why?

Now, don't get me wrong here. All crimes against a 3rd party individual (murder, rape, theft, abuse, ...) that is conducted against the will of that individual should remain a crime. I'm simply asking for freedom here!

Yes, these are called victimless crimes, and for the most part such laws represent senseless victorian attitudes and should be abolished.

Drugs are not just crimes against oneself...

Literally and potentially.

Figure that one out before you try to talk about politics. No offense, but it's pretty basic knowledge. By saying something that ignorant most people will ignore everything else you have to say.

As for the others, euthanasia etc, this can be abused due to people trying to kill them to get inheritance etc or a person can be too mentally unstable to decide for themselves.
That is why there are laws in that case.

My experience with family members and drugs:
It's starts out as using, then abusing... and then the drug HAS the person. It becomes an addiction.
At addiction level, the person can no longer function at a job and gets fired.
Now they need money to support a drug habit.
After repeated car accidents, they lose their license and maybe their car.
So they steal...
or prostitute themselves
or both.
If kids are in the picture, they get neglected and sometimes, abandoned altogether.

Drugs repeatedly lead to third and fourth party injuries.

The folks in my family that did all of the above and then some have cleaned themselves up for the most part. One of them had to do hard time in prison to get herself cleaned up.

Steve C: Yes, marriage between consenting adult siblings should be legal. Scientifically, incest is a practically baseless taboo. Inbreeding is more likely to cause genetic defects, yes, but we don't make it illegal for people with hereditary diseases that they could pass on to reproduce. It is their decision to make.

Between children and adults no, for the same reason why we do not allow children and adults to have sex together: we do not believe children have the maturity to understand what they are consenting to.

Brilliant, too bad the government feels the need to regulate everything.

Society has the right to outlaw certain types of behavior as detrimental to society as a whole. Do you think it should be legal for someone to ask another person to kill him and there be no murder charge? Should adult siblings be permitted to marry? How about an adult and a child?

public display of inappropriate behavior is and should be against the law.

We don't have free will - we have free choices. I can't chose to levitate.

God is the only power that can truly give us "free" will...
Unfortunately man is limited by his own free will... Isn't that ironic

I think you are confused about something. In order to commit a crime, at least one of the persons is unconsenting. That is what makes it a crime.
