There are three physical dimensions that we can perceive. Time is sometimes considered the 'fourth' dimension, but a more precise definition is that the three spatial dimensions, plus time, make up four equal 'space-time' dimensions, and time itself is not a separate dimension.
Modern cosmological theories call for many more dimensions to make the theories work; but that the 'extra' dimensions are said to be convoluted (wrapped up) on a microscopic scale that we can't see.
Mathematically, it is possible to have an unlimited number of dimensions. A good example we learn in high school maths is solving simultaneous equations. We can solve for two unknowns (say,X and Y) if we have two equations, and we can solve for any number of unknowns; providing we have the same number of equations. What we are actually doing is solving in multiple dimensions.
The mathematics of multiple dimension analysis is called matrix analysis.
Even though more than three physical dimensions may not exist, we can still analyse an unlimited number of dimensions, mathematically.

infinite. it is a symmetrical opposite universe, but good and evil love and hate are not part of it since all realization of existence is a "thread to each other thread to bliss" condition impossible to be perceived differently from one to another. the extreme mass black hole (where you see galaxy swirling) and the mass less one (where it is spread out) are one in the same, the 180 degree other side you could never reach as you travel from either side, and yet, you may see one here and the other there, so how can they be symmetric? This is where infini dimensional ism is not yet understood but shows its presence. there was no such thing as a starting point. "Big Bang" the universe is expanding and "crunch phase transition" both at the same time, and always has been always will. It is either everything always was and always will be or nothingness never. Death, entropy, are "completion myths. The "event horizon" point of these black holes peripheral-ed throughout the cosmos, (also the points where "Blisskeeper" lives) there is no ambiguity either, the symmetrical interactive universe is very exact. Any perceptions to the contrary are only because of the lack of knowledge.
