Ok so this really close friend of mine recently moved away, and we have this tradition that we dedicate songs to each other...we always kinda had feelings for each other but never did anything serious, so I want to dedicate a song to him that says like...i'll never forget you or u know, no matter how much we change there'll always be something there...
Any genre
Thanks in advance :)

Oh and I want it to be more friendship-related than love or regrets or anything like that

miles apart - yellowcard
"we'll be miles apart, i'll keep you deep inside you're always in my heart..."

i think that's a good song, and it's not really that love-related so i hope it works for ya ;)

How about "Feelin' Stronger Every Day" by Chicago. The Lyrics say it right, I think. Anyway, It's a great song.
I don't know if you're into older stuff, but it's from 1973.

Friends, by Michael W. Smith would be perfect.
Smith wrote this song when his good friends were moving away.
Here is a link to the lyrics... http://music.yahoo.com/Michael-W.-Smith/Friends/lyrics/815247#lyricstop

I'll see if I can find a link to where you can hear the song.

**EDIT**
Ok, you can listen to a 30 second clip on the above link... it cuts off right before the chorus, though. It's a nice song.

"Fix You" by Coldplay.

I don't know how well it works with your situation, but it's a fantastic song either way.

Good luck, mate, sounds tough.
