I have several questions which are annoying to find answers to, so i need MAJOR help
1)when Fe2+ is added to NaSCN, what is the complex ion formed given that the colour of the resulting solution is orange?

2) what is the effect of adding glucose to a transition ion when it is also reacted with OH-?

pls help!!!

1. Fe3+ reacts with SCN- ions to form a red complex, not Fe2+ ions. One of the ions present will be [FeSCN]2+.

2. You are trying to work out reducing sugars by the looks of it. Alkaline conditions usually produce a hydroxide precipitate with transition metal ions. You want to look up Fehling's test.
