Not only do I vote, but I see to it that my 92 year old Mother (who is in her right mind and makes her own choices) gets her chance to vote. I took her to her polling place until 2 years ago, now I get her an absentee ballot. She reads the 2 newspapers daily and we discuss issues.

Mistakes happen, yes, when you forget to check voting records against claims made by the candidate about their stand. Most lie, that is the flat out truth. Follow the money.

If the person I think best represents me doesn't stand a snowball's chance in H*** of winning, I don't care. This isn't a game. I still vote for that person. I figure it is a vote for a platform or an idea or an ethic. and my vote will instruct other candidates what I want, and what will get my vote next time.

Yes, I am 55 now, and when I look back 30 years, I am sorry about some votes. But hindsight is 20/20 . You learn and move on.

I vote in every general election. I am sure of who I what to vote for before I enter the booth. If I am unsure of certain offices or referendums (usually local), I leave those blank. I have regretted some votes, like a certain governor about a decade ago who went back on just about everything he said.
I am no left-winger, but a Republican. However, I vote for the person I think is best, not the party. I voted for Democrat in the last House election and I am still happy that she got elected.

Well, I'm pretty liberal, but, I can't think of anything I've voted for that I really regretted. Besides I'm in California, and in the big contest we have gone Democrat for the last four presidential elections, and we have sent Boxer and Feinstien to the senate for several terms as well. The republican party is really in disarray here, most of them don't even like Arnold because they think he is to liberal.

I vote because if you do not vote, you really have no right to complain about the government. If all the people voted, the government would have to pay more attention. Now many poorer people do not vote, if they all did the gov. would have to do more for them so they would get their vote in the next election. The people have power, but only if they work together, but that will never happen, and that suits the gov. just fine.
