Johnny Rockets on Melrose (best burgers in town) or The Hollywoood Improv ( their food is outstanding).

I like Johnny Rockets too, but I'm kinda partial to Fatburger. There's an Olive Garden and several non-chain sandwich shops in on Westwood Boulevard near the UCLA campus.

For something a little more than a hamburger, you've got to try my favorite place, The East India Grill, on Fairfax just above Beverly. Their curry sauce is one-of-a-kind.
