Oh yes!!. And I remember when my parents went out and I thought I could make the tree more beautiful by putting on regular Christmas lights, damn near electrocuted me! LOL

My mother had bought this little Xmas tree once, and she put it outside. But there were no lights or anything on it, so that looked ok.

But my cousin well she had a big 6ft Silver tree with lights and way to many bulbs to count. I hated that tree, it looked so tacky. There was just to much going on.

No, we didn't, but my husband's parents did. When I saw it
the first time, I thought it was lovely. It was just the right
size for a table tree. The color wheel was high up on a
secretary and shone down on the tree. It really sparkled,
which was lovely. My family always had green trees, which
were pretty too.

YES! GAG! I was in 7th grade! My mom HATED it, but my dad loved it. We also had a vinyl couch and chair...black and white...dad really like them. It was MY job every Saturday morning to clean them...the little 'ridges' on the arms and back of the couch had to be cleaned with a tooth brush (had a 2 year brother old at the time who got food in the welts...I guess that's what you call them.)
Back to the tree...my dad said we couldn't put lights ON the tree because we'd get a shock. I was embarrassed to have my buds come over those 2 years we had it!

Yeah, we had one for a couple of years until the cat knocked the colored light wheel over and the colored lens things burned. I still can't believe we thought such a gaudy piece of faddish crap was beautiful.

Yes, we did one year. We insisted on having a tree that looked like a green tree after that. Probably the fact that the cat thought it was a hugh shiny toy influenced my mom to get rid of it more than our opinions of it.

Yes, they did. That color wheel drove me nuts! I wanted it to stay in one color and I was too young to understand how to do this. So, I would put my toes on the wheel and halt the rotation.

That was not a good idea! Once caught, I was in big trouble as then, it wobbled as it rotated. I think it groaned too...not sure but, I sure did when Daddy spatted my backside! lol

My mother made a beautiful little one just for me (it wasn't silver) out of toothpicks and Styrofoam balls, which she flocked and got the light wheel for. I was 5 years old and I thought it was magical.

Yes, that was the growing craze for a couple of years, and a lot of people had them. Then they just faded away, and we all went back to flocked or real trees.

My brother had one, and a phony cardboard fireplace with flickering orange light.

Different I guess. Pretty in a tacky way.
