Whoo... that was a mouthful, I know.
But proofs only exist in mathematics. Nothing in science is 100% fact (i.e., proof). That's right -- not even gravity. No scientist can say they are absolutely certain that, say, the sun will rise tomorrow.
So, why, especially for infomercials and commercials, things being sold are said to be scientifically proven to work (for whatever it is they do)?

Well, the Earth being flat was never a scientific matter. It was just generally accepted until evidence came in to show otherwise.
