They make a jewelry cleaning solution, one for gold and a different one for silver. It's a liquid that you dip or soak the jewelry in and when it comes out it looks brand new. I get mine at Wal Mart, but you can probably get it at Walgreens, Target, etc. It works great, but it does have an offensive odor.
