1. [noun] a feeling of evil to come; "a steadily escalating sense of foreboding"; "the lawyer had a presentiment that the judge would dismiss the case"
Synonyms: foreboding, presentiment, boding
2. [noun] an early warning about a future event
Synonyms: forewarning
Sandra Bullock saw the event BEFORE it happened, the order of things don't make sense because the movie wants to put it out as a puzzle for the viewer, but what matters here is that Bullock needs to find out that before dying her husband had refused to being unfaithful to her and that he loved her very much. It also teaches her, that her real reason of living are her kids.

well, before all, its only a hollywood movie. but premonition is having a vision or a feeling about something that was going to happen in the future, and everyone experiences it from time to time, for example, you wake up and you know something is gonna go wrong, or you guess the next song on the radio or something like that. the movie is about the lady that had visions, very strong visions of what happened to her husband, and she basically tried to stop it, but there's something stronger... destiny! because whatever she did, she couldnt change destiny, you know what i mean?

from what i remember, in a way she caused her husband's death because they saw each other on the highway, and just when they were running towards each other, the husband gets hit by a truck.
she saw her husband's death but did not understand the events that lead to his death.
i can't explain it clearly because I only understood the movie after i finished watching it

Here's my attempt...O.K. she sees things before they happen. or knows something about things before they happen concerning her family. And she does not know what to do about it because it has to do with her not having faith any more. She finds out her husband dies, that her daughter is hurt, she gets institutionalized and finds out her husband has an affair. She basically has to have the faith in herself to repair the damage in her family and salvage what she can. So she starts making a calendar of events or a time line of when things happens so she can do something about them. In the end she saves what is left of her family by not preventing her husbands death, but by forgiving him and conceiving a child and being there for her daughters in the end.

Yeah it was kind of confusing...she kept jumping around all over the place. The ending though I understood...she got pregnant the night her and her husband were together. That night would have never happened if she had not started jumping around. Even though she could not save her husband in the end...she did manage to make a difference by getting pregnant.

doesn't her life go backwards while her husbands life goes forward. so one day she sees her husband dying and the next day, he's alive.
