Why do women (people in general) go back and forth b/t 2 men and lie about it, and tell each they are in love?

And when both men know the woman is doing this why do they continue to believe her and allow this to happen? What kind of woman is this and does she ever change? I have a friend allowing a woman to do this and it is making me sick. I have offered up my advise and there is nothing more I can do. The woman is playing him and he is so in love he says, because the woman says she wants to spend a life with him. I don't see how when she leaves him then comes back after a month or so. THis is a pattern.

I do not understand it either.

I know a girl just like that. Only she has more than just 2 guys she is playing, one of them being my son, which they have a 3 year old son together.
She also has a 4 1/2 year old with another guy. She bounces back and fourth from both these guys and at the moment is living with another guy. She is living only 2 blocks from my son right now, she sneaks over to see him often, her excuse is to either drop of her son or to go see her son. My son has custody.

I will never figure it out. NEVER! Why my son doesn't tell her to hit the road...

What I know about this girl, she is lacking in self confidence and needs validation from guys... Anyone and everyone that looks at her.... She is lacking in education. She is lazy and wants others to support her and care for her children.
She is confused about LIFE... She doesn't seem to get it..

And for my son, I dont think he is IN love with her anymore, he feels sorry for her.. Plus she is the mother to his son and wants his son to have a relationship with his Mother.
