its another market vs. inviroment question.....the market deals with the money net and the inviroment deals with the citizens .which one do you want to deal with first..,....if your like me and most other americans you want it all perfect with frosting on top.....some how we always manage to hand up about always about 20% off of center.....we always seem to over steer the boat.....could have something to do with the balance of coffee consumption, booze, sugar, and general lack of body health and balance and the practice of gambling addiction.....peace again is hard to find .....if the body is at war? how can you not be also headed in the same direction? a strong military can only be achieved with a very strong social program that brings all people to some strong balance of selfworth and respect ...no dividers need apply...all jobs should pay aliving wage etc.......markets always segregate by nature, capitalism steps hard....and socialism can over softed the spirit to the point of cloged arteries and markets have diffently caused a unhealthy food supply and the meaning of more and of not really listening very well. i need a 15min. lunch brake right now,,,,,later bye

Sounds about right. Some people are so easily duped.
Isn't it funny how some people do not even know what Fascism is? They think it is a conservative buzz word instead of socialism's natural friution.

It's a bogus quote to start with. And even if someone said it, so what? I could say, "We are the Borg. You will be absorbed. Resistance is futile!" In real life there isn't such a thing a 'liberalism' anyway....used as a pejoritive the reactionaries have simply redefined the word to their own purpose. Creating a 'strawman' enemy is the oldest propaganda trick in the world. Is there anything that these mythical 'liberals' won't do or say? The propaganda artists simply put words into the mouth of the strawman and accuse it of beliefs and deeds that over time become 'the truth'.....even though there are no real people with any real power as described by the propaganda mills. Let's be real....currently 'our' country is owned and operated by a slowly shrinking cabal of trans-national corporations. As they buy each other out they consolidate their grip on the political, social and economic venues of United States....using the threat of 'socalism' to justify all kinds of corporate and governmental mischief. Not to worry, Bro...there are no 'liberals' or socalists you need worry about...there is no Emmanual Goldstein plotting against 'Big Brother'!

Absolutely, we need to get rid of every vestige of socialism. Lets start by getting rid of social security and medicare, I'm sure you can pay for your elderly in laws needs.
Then lets get rid of welfare (except for corporations).
Since a feature of socialism is big meddlesome government lets get rid of the Food and Drug Administration and just trust big corporations to put into our food only wholesome nutrients and we know they would not adulterate our medicines.
While we are at it lets get rid of the Federal Aviation Authority and let the airlines police their own fleets. Heck, a fee market economy will do that better than any government program. Just let 20 or 30 flights from airline X crash and kill a few thousand people and no one will fly on that airline until they fix he problem.
And not only that we can save a lot of money by getting rid of that socialist scam known as education. We don't need to be able to read write and think, We've got rush to do that for us.
Get rid of all traces of socialism? Face it pal, if you think that's smart or even possible, you've been brain washed. Without a huge dose of socialism, this whole society goes down the tubes in 6 weeks. I would strongly suggest you are extremely naive to think otherwise.

True. That's why we need to keep the Libs out of office. I don't want to be under a socialist commie rule. I'll become a resident of Mexico if that happens.

I think if you look at the world... 99.9 percent of the places you would ever want to live are somewhat "socialist"... Europe... the U.S.... Canada... Japan...
highest education, health, civil rights and freedom rates in the world are in those nations (that conservatives all call "socialist")
I guess what I've always wondered is... why aren't what conservatives call "capitalist" nations leading the world in all of those? is capitalism is so great?

Paranoid and delusional. Liberalism has as much in common with socialism as conservatism has in common with fascism.
Fact is that the U.S. is much closer to adopting fascism right now than it is to adopting socialism. Unless you think that the fire Dept, the police Dept and public infrastructure is "socialism".

I think the first part of the answer is true. Do people really ever fully know what they are getting themselves into....the definition of democracy is on thing, but in reality a capitalistic society skews any real meaning of that definition.
