Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.
– V's introduction to Evey
I personally loved it.

"Remember, remember, the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot. I see no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot."

I've never read the graphic novel, but I don't think you need to read it to appreciate the movie. Though it became a little weighty in the middle (one part seemed to drag a little) other than that it was a great experience. The story was so topical that I got seriously emotional during a lot of parts. Weaving did an excellent job with the mysterious title character "V", creating a poetic, intelligent, and compassionate yet ruthless character. Portman always seems to surprise me, except with her Star Wars character. She portrays tremendous emotional range and transforms completely throughout the movie. This is one of those movies that really sticks in your head long after you watch it though... and it continues to stir and grow.

I loved the graphic novel but the movie wasn't as good.

The movie lost what Alan Moore was trying to say in the comic, for instance V was changed from an anarchist in the comic to more of a freedom fighter in the movie and Adam Susan (comic) was a man who really believes in fascism and at the end of the day wanted to be loved by his people was changed to Adam Sutler who seemed to simply want power.

That being said, I enjoyed the movie, but not nearly as much as I loved the comic.

Despite that bit of silly diolauge I loved the movie... great action. Good acting by a man in a mask. I liked the plot and some of the themes even though I might not agree with the politics. reVolution.

I liked it quite a bit, I thought it was a great movie, and certainly raised my general thoughts on graphic novels.
